1967 BSA A65 Lightning
I built this bike from the ground up. My father bought it second hand in 1972 and there have been several partial restorations, but this was the most complete. The crank was balanced and reworked. The head was rebuilt. The clutch basket, hub and disks are new. SRM pressure plate and oil pump. I rebuilt the wheels with stainless spokes and rims. New wheel bearings and brakes. New swing arm bushings. Chain, carbs, cables, rubbers, pistons, rings, rods, valves, springs. All new EI and solid state rectifier. Frame was painted. Everything that could fit in the oven was powder coated. Much new hardware. Every reused part was reconditioned and polished. Fenders, chain guard and headlamp were re-chromed. Tank and side covers are painted. I am nearly done with the wiring and I’ll recover the seat. More images here: Photos
