1965 Greeves / Triumph 500cc “The Grumph”
Our first user showcase bike submission here on VintageMX.net comes from Lew Milligan of Richmond, California. It is a 1965 Greeves / Triumph hybrid that he lovingly calls, his “Grumph”. Here is what Lew says about his bike:
Lew Milligan’s 500cc “Grumph”
I built this in 1965 to use in Hare scrambles and enduro’s. CT Alloy made the rear sprocket for this. It was in Cycle News in 1965. I got 3rd overall at Wilseyville hare scrambles (near Sacramento,California) in 1965 or 1966. The main photo is taken at a motocross at China camp (about 1967) in Marin County, California.
Thanks for sharing with us Lew, we love your bike!

That Grumph is currently owned by Geoff Meadows of Fernley, Nevada (775) 997-5713. He has it advertised for sale in the Reno Craig’s List for $5200. This is the link to the ad: http://reno.craigslist.org/mcy/5575750359.html
I was interested in the Grumph also – it’s a very unique machine – but think it’s a bit more than I can handle at 70 yrs old and recovering from six months of chemotherapy.
