1963 Husqvarna 250 CR
The Husqvarna 250 was modeled after their mid-1950s three-speed 175cc road bike. By 1963, Husky had created a race-winning machine. This 245cc two-stroke had a four-speed gearbox, weighed 208 pounds, had light alloy conical brake hubs and a simple tubular frame, and came standard with Norton forks.
Only 100 Husky 250s were released in 1963, and they were very popular. They were extremely light, and designed specifically for motocross. They were also so fast that they usually beat out the four-strokes. They not only ran extremely well, but they looked great too. While most everything was black or chrome, the fuel tank was chrome and bright red. These Huskys quickly made a splash in the new 250cc two stroke class of motocross racing.
The 1963 250 was hard to beat in competitions. In 1963, Torsten Hallman rode the 250 to victory in the World Championships. He also helped Sweden win the Trophee des Nations that year. Hallman, along with Lars Forberg and Cenneth Loof, were all on the Husqvarna 250 and brought victory to their country.

Are there any pre-1966 Huskys in the US? I’ve got a ’61 four stroke 500 and a ’66 250 and am dying to find one of these ultra low production/prototype early 2 strokes. Contact me if you have a line on one.
Thanks!
